Welcome to Every Home Remodeling. By accessing or using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

About This Site

Every Home Remodeling publishes hands-on reviews, head-to-head comparisons and step-by-step guides for homeowners who remodel their own houses. We cover the tools that do the most work in a DIY renovation: oscillating multi-tools for trim and cutouts, tile leveling systems, cross line lasers for layout, cordless brad nailers for trim, and flooring installation kits for laminate and vinyl plank.

Remodeling Safety

Remodeling work carries real risks, and nothing on this site replaces the manufacturer's instructions or a licensed professional. Cutting tile, stone, grout and concrete creates crystalline silica dust; wet cut where you can, use dust extraction, and wear a properly fitted N95 or better respirator. Homes built before 1978 may contain lead paint, and older flooring, mastic, popcorn ceilings and drywall compound may contain asbestos. Have suspect materials tested before you sand, scrape or demolish them.

Wear safety glasses and hearing protection with every power tool, keep blades and bits sharp and guarded, and remove the battery before changing an accessory. Treat a brad nailer as a loaded tool: never point it at anyone, keep fingers away from the nose, and disconnect it before clearing a jam. Look away from a laser beam and never aim it at eyes. Shut off the breaker before working near wiring, scan for pipes and cables before you drill or cut into a wall, ventilate well when using adhesives, stains and solvents, and use ladders on firm, level footing. Structural, electrical, plumbing and gas work may require permits and a licensed contractor in your area.
